My Story

Let's see if I can condense 40 years into a quick summary lol. A born athletic tomboy until puberty hit hard. Horrible acne motivated me to take care of my skin the best I knew how. Raised by a single mother trying to get by meant cheap processed foods. Not until I graduated high school did I begin to lean into exercise while still eating the Standard American Diet (SAD). At that point in my early twenties I was what you would call "skinny fat" and this is when I met my husband of 15+ year.


I was blessed with a father-in-law that is a retired Chiropractor and still provided adjustments to family. This is a treatment I highly recommend even for lifelong maintenance, not just for short term injuries (assuming there are no contraindications).


During my first pregnancy I finally began to look at my food choices. This is when I discovered Isabel De Los Rios, the creator of the "Beyond Diet Program" and began my long journey to health. Wanting to lose the baby weight quickly I switched to "Take Shape for Life" (aka Metifast) now called Optavia. Can you see the start of my yo-yo rollercoaster.

Now in my early 30's I was diagnosed as Pre-diabetic with an A1C level of 5.7. What went undiagnosed for at least two years was post part-um depression. My healthy habits took a nose dive during this time. When my first child was around three, I began to suffer from serious sciatica pain that made it hard to walk properly limiting my left legs movement at the hip. While relying on Chiropractic treatment I was determined to find other tools to improve my physical ability for basic movement. I stumbled upon Teresa Tapp's T-Tapp program which included the detox technique of dry skin brushing and I managed to continue T-tapp habits consistently all these years later. When I turned 38 I decided to get serious about my health starting with my hormones. As you can imagine, this led me to the relationship between hormones and metabolic health. Here is where my passion grew to what it is today thanks to the many health pioneers I learned from.
